Most Americans now believe marijuana should be legal and it may soon be in the Sunshine State.

A survey from Pew Research Center found 88-percent of Americans think cannabis should be legal for recreational or medicinal use.

And if the Florida Supreme court clears the way for the amendment allowing legal adult personal use of marijuana by April 1, 2024, recreational marijuana will likely make it to the November ballot.

If it passes, Florida will become the 25th state where recreational marijuana is legal.

The state is arguing before the Supreme Court that the amendment fails to accurately inform voters that marijuana would still be illegal under federal law.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said "recreational marijuana is likely on its way to legalization in Florida but added that the smell is a "big problem" in legal states.

The governor says the amendment must allow for "time, place and manner restrictions."
