Former USC running back, and Miami Dolphin, Reggie Bush is getting his 2005 Heisman Trophy back.

Bush's trophy was taken away in 2010 after the NCAA imposed sanctions on USC for infractions, including Bush receiving improper benefits.

The Heisman Trust told ESPN the reinstatement of Bush's trophy comes at a time when college athletes are now allowed to profit from their name and likeness.

Bush was re-gifted his Heisman Trophy at a summit meeting of the Trust on Wednesday morning outside Jacksonville, Florida.

"We are thrilled to welcome Reggie Bush back to the Heisman family in recognition of his collegiate accomplishments," Michael Comerford, president of The Heisman Trophy Trust, said in a statement. "We considered the enormous changes in college athletics over the last several years in deciding that now is the right time to reinstate the trophy for Reggie. We are so happy to welcome him back.
